Search engine giant Google has always recognized and celebrated the achievements of the best icons in the world through their special doodles.
Today’s Google’s doodle celebrates the 85th birth anniversary of India’s singing legend, Kishore Kumar.
Born on August 4, 1929; Kishore Kumar was not just a popular singer but was gifted in many other areas as well. Along with being one of the most sensational singer’s of his time, he was also a lyricist, producer, actor, music composer, director and screenplay writer. He came into the Hindi film industry or Bollywood as it is popularly known through his elder brother, Ashok Kumar. During his career he won many accolades, the most impressive being 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. He holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards in that category, which is indeed an amazing achievement.
Popularly known for his roles in movies like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Half Ticket, and Padosan, his first movie as an actor was opposite his brother Ashok Kumar in Shikari. Some of his evergreen songs include gems like Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Phoolon Ke Rang Se, Yeh Raatein Yeh Mausam among many others. Kishore Kumar got married four times and passed away on 13 October 1987 in Mumbai.
One of my favorite song “Ek Chatur Naar starring Saira Banu, Mehmood, Sunil Dutt & Kishore Kumar” from the movie “Padosan”. Enjoy the video –
